Re: SP (New Cam )

That's interesting as my engine builder has suggested 34mm runners of 160mm length from the common plenum to the heads for my 2.8 with a very hairy camshaft spec. I wonder if a smaller diameter might give more low end torque. We have currently managed 300Nm (221ft/lbs) of torque and approx 250bhp in...

I just bought a high torque starter from David Manners. Wasn’t on their site, but might be now.

Re: SP (New Cam )

New much modified Org. manifold with tapered individual runners , Running 2 X HIF6 ( Rover 3.5 carbs slightly modded needles ) Revs cleanly to 7k . Back on Dyno Wed. to check torque curve . We may have lost a little at 1500 or it may be the needles need a little more attention. Idle is better than ...

Re: Engine to Gearbox Adapter Plates

Very interesting! I’d be very interested in the auto box file as I might need to make another slightly thicker than original to make the aluminium bellhousing fit my T5 gearbox.

Re: SP (New Cam )

Dyno run today -- At Crank, 202 HP @5980, 213FT.LB TQ @4088 . . At wheels 153hp and 161.3 tq. Previous dyno had power at 152hp with the smaller cam , same setup on this Dyno showed it as 147 hp , so quite conservative. Looking good , needles were a tad rich so have swapped them and looks great with...

Re: Sonus / or others

PS. , what is the story re getting the bellhousing from the states ? Steve I currently run with a steel auto bellhousing which weigh a lot. I then read a thread on this forum about aluminium bellhousings cast in the 90s by Barry Thorne. He had none left, but a forum user in the US had one spare whi...

Re: Sonus / or others

Hi, not been able to progress as planed due to work and life in general, but hoping to have the bottom end ready soon. Needed to persuade ARP that the head studs they make will suit my application. They did not want to sell to me or my engine shop before they knew the planed rev limit, torque and bh...
