RIP from Australia.
A great loss to the SP fraternity. Always great to see him at the rallies we have attended, especially Ross on Wye.
Condolences to Gill.

I'm having some trouble with timing the engine. Can anyone advise the correct position for the oil pump drive? Cannot move the distributor to have the points opening at TDC as it hit's the dipstick. Could it be the oil pump is in the wrong position. Have had the distributor rebuilt so should be no p...

Re: 1953 Empress Two-Door Hooper Saloon
I saw this car partially restored at Ross on Wye in 2009. Truly a beautiful car. It's sister is here in Melbourne. The restoration is a credit to you John and it deserves a lot more than the estimate. Hopefully it'll go to someone who appreciates it and importantly someone who will take it to shows ...

Re: Car Tax evasion triples after paper tax disc scrapped
The same thing happened here in Australia. The letter said "we're helping the environment and saving you the hassle of registration stickers". I have left the old ones on my cars as they remind me not so much of when they are due, but to remember to put aside the funds required to pay. We ...

Re: Daimler Regency or 104?
I forgot to mention, but my comments aren't quite correct. We had an early 104 in our club that had the petrol flap and big painted hubcaps, but it also had the burl walnut dashboard and white instruments. Can't remember what the handbrake was like.Maybe Daimler used up the left over Regency bits fo...

Re: 1949 Daimler Convertible hot rod
It's a DJ253 alright.
The first ones were 1954 and they made the last in 56 I think.
Around 250 built and I would think there's probably around 50 left.
Three were at Redhill this past June.
Cheap as it looks OK.

Re: Daimler Regency or 104?
An easy way to tell the difference is the Regency has large hubcaps a la Special Sports, with a painted centre section, whilst the 104 has a smaller fully chromed hubcap. The dash on the Regency is also plain with white instruments and the 104 has the 'Ladies Model" jukebox style with black ins...
