Re: SP250 Thermostat
OK, my concern is that on warm days (28-32c) at highway speeds (100-110kph) the temp gauge (after a while) registers over the white band 'normal' range but only about half way between there and the 230 (obviously hot) and the electric fan (R&P conversion) holds it there. I keep getting told the ...

Re: SP250 Thermostat
With respect David, thermostats are not sorted and if you want to talk about antifreeze start your own post. I am interested in what thermostats people are using NOT the thermostat recommended by Daimler, I can read that in the manual. The climate here is somewhat warmer than UK (one of the reasons ...

Re: Daimler SP250 Dart at the Tasmanian Motor Museum
The SP in the Launceston museum is owned by one of our local Daimler club members who is currently resident O/S. Have no idea about the NSW SP at Coles Bay but I was there with my SP in March. They'll be sick of them!

Re: Australian National Rally
I agree Keith, I know at least three people who did a total of about 1400 miles (round trip) to attend the rally - not including the Prices from Queensland who would have done considerably more. When last in UK the hire car guy thought Croydon to Southampton was a long way! Would love to be at Cornw...

Re: Dynamator
OK, I have fitted a DYNAMATOR to my SP and have another for my DJ254 (not ready yet). I have an electric fan, H4 headlights and felt I needed more umph than a dynamo. Enter the DYNAMATOR. The only issue is that it doesn't charge at idle. I purchased a small pulley from Holden but the smallest they o...

Re: SP250 engine oil quantity.
My SP is relatively new to me and I have been intrigued by the thre marks on the dip stick (see photo). The top mark is 7 1/2" from the tube stop, the lower mark has 5.5 lightly etched next to it, and the middle mark has 6.1 etched next to it. I am keeping the level at the top mark that I think...
