V8 250 rear suspension

On driving my V8 250 after 2 years of renovation I think the rear suspension is a bit hard. Should I remove the leaf springs and have them refurbished? Has any one had this problem? Is it worth checking the hight of the car from the ground to check the spring tension? The shock absorbers work ok, on...

Re: Saloon front road spring removal

I have made my own tool to compress the front springs using large high tensile steel rod and long nuts, together with guide bolts and have found it easy to use and easily strong enough.
If you would like details let me know.

Re: Alternators in a Dynamo body

I fitted a cheap alternator in a dynamo body purchased at the NEC classic car show for just over £100. Its now been in my DJ254 2.5 straight 6 for over a year and have been on some long drives, about 2,000 miles in all. No problems yet, touch wood only time and more miles will tell. Driving with hea...

Re: Sump removal, V8 250

Hi Richard
I have removed the sump.
Remove track rods and anti roll bar and bits as above, you will also need to lower the front suspension unit about 40mm.

Has any one fitted a plastic key operated battery isolation switch and worked out the best place to fit?
Maybe send a picture.

Thanks Chris

Re: 2.5 V8 Engine and Box removal?

Hi Phil I have only taken engine and auto box out, but it may be of some help. I leave the front wheels on the ground but have the back wheels on ramps, this gives height to get under the car but leaves the front lower for removal. It also gives angle so that the engine can be got out without removi...

Re: Daimler 250 Saloon Sump Gaskets

Hi Bill
The sump is a face fit no gasket, only each end.
I use Wellseal jointing compound, its a well known quality non Hardening compound.
Use a brush its just like treacle.
