I have a 1936 LA10 with the 1444cc engine and it was not fitted with a waterpump or a thermostat. I have never had any overheating problems.
The engine was renovated six years ago and included block cleaned and the cylinder head rebuilt by Slinden Services. Regards frenchy

Hi Dave you will have to fit the cylinder head first as the rocker shaft locates on the studs. Assemble the shaft and put two short bolts in both end rocker posts so that will stay in place, ensure that all other posts are in the correct position. The main problem is the centre joint and this is why...

Your assumption is correct. The recesses are either side of the shaft. They are location for the head studs. The ones on the ends will be on the off side ie manifold side. The centre and intermediate recesses will be on the near side. You can work out the location by looking at the holes for the stu...

Your cylinder head can be repaired by Slinden Services, Derbyshire. Mobile 07866562323. L3 Olympic House, Westminster Industrial House, Measham, Derbyshire, DE12 7DS. Perhaps you have someone locally? This is a common problem on this engine and cylinder heads in good condition are difficult to find....
