Std, perfect ratios. 2.951st through to .80 5th, This is with a 3.72 rear end 205 hp and 213 ft.lb. tq
now how about those spare gears chaps ? Den is held up for that constant mesh gear .

Must be that time of year, i have three boxes stripped just now , Could do with a good / unworn counter shaft 1st and a constant mesh gear ( the one at the front of the cluster ) -- One box has had a Vanguard input shaft and constant mesh gear fitted at some stage so needs sorting . Yes , there is a way to retain the std. Mech. Fan but it would involve making custom steering arms and resetting the rack above the Fan Extension tube . Then the Steering Col. would need three universals to get past the exhaust Manifold to the rack --- not pretty. I've said before, "a little le...

Ians solution works . been doing it for decades . Use a 1mm cutting disc to convert a plug tube to a chaser , cleaning out the multiple slots every 1/4 turn is the secret to success. Double nut the outer end from saloon oil filler tubes .

Just to mention -- the org SP trunnion is flat on the top so grease seal is also flat ( and fairly useless )
The later TR seal is conical , as is the top of the trunnion.
The TR4A and later has the larger thread dia / seal and is a no fit
