Re: Trailer with blowing bulbs

Well it's the "blowing" of the bulbs which is the issue. The salient point is " ... caravan ....blowing the stop lamp bulbs with regular occurrences. He can change both bulbs, correct voltage/wattage and yet after 2 to 3 miles each has blown one after the other. " So it's 1. stop...

Re: Trailer with blowing bulbs

I suppose that the friend's friend meant "very brief and intermittent" short in wiring up to the bulb holder which might not be long enough duration to blow a fuse. This would cause a kind of square-wave voltage onto the bulb. More probably, the other way to produce a square-wave voltage o...

Re: DB18/2 interior

The circular plate swings open to get access to the prop shaft grease nipples Regarding the small plates with holes, the two in the front floor section and the two in the rear floor section, do all four holes come through the felt beneath the floor sections ? (if so, I suspect that wires came throug...

Re: DB18/2 interior

If the round plates with holes line up front-to-rear then someone may have used them to "sling" two items front-to-rear under the car - possibly radio antennas - yes at one time radio antennas were fitted under cars Nope, I've just managed to look under the Consort and the small plates wi...

Re: DB18/2 interior

You're conflating two separate "plates" John. The picture below is one of several pictures from the 1st page of this thread, and this picture shows the topside/upper-side of the rear wooden floor (rear seats would align with the top line of the floor in the picture) Rear Floor topside.jpg ...

Re: The Ghost in the machine

Rewrite 1. does the starter turn over when you press the button on the solenoid in the engine bay ? If no, something wrong with the battery or the cables to the battery . If yes, go to 2 2. using a voltmeter, is there 12 Volts between regulator terminal A and the battery terminal which connects to c...

Re: DB18/2 interior

I could go and check the 100% original floorboards in my Consort but, although all the seats are out and the doors and B-pillar on the driver's side are also out, last week I put a heavy 13 foot rolled-up curled-up carpet in there (for the conservatory, nowhere else to put it, nature abhors a vacuum...

Re: The Ghost in the machine

I'm assuming it is the Consort If so, here's an extremely useful cut-down that I created some time ago of the Consort wiring diagram (well I would say "extremely" since I was the one who created it) Electrical-Daimler-DB18 Consort Wiring Diagram A31024_1_.jpg Pus, big bonus, the R95 regula...
