Mystery Engine.

And now for something completely different!

Harking back to the glory days of sleeve valve Daimler's, can anyone identify this engine, which I came across whilst idling around on the 'net??

Re: Speed

Ponder on this .......................... Go outside, and measure 9 feet along your garden path. Now jog along this nine feet in one second - which even a geriatric like me can easily accomplish. And that is the increase in speed required between 30 and 35mph to get you a hefty fine and three points...

Re: Speed

Daimlers had it sorted years ago!! They built sleeve valve engines especially designed to smoke and obliterate the possiblility of reading the rear number plate - as Pomeroy visualised one day there would be some form of camera device invented. So, to travel at limitless speed, all you need is a sle...

Do you believe in telepathy?????

If you don't believe in telepathy, then how do you account for Daimler Owners wives using the same words? Here a a few examples: "How much you paid for that?" "Your dinners getting cold". "You said that an hour ago". "Your not bringing that in my kitchen". &qu...

I'm still searching for a parts catalogue for my 16/20 - publication number T.C.66 if anyone has one or comes across one - which I will purchase or swap for T.C.56 - covering the 12 cylinder 01 &P1 50's.

Re: 1935 15 Engine Rebuild - crank end float ...

I too am sorry - sorry to be so contoversial. Let me see if I've got this straight - you say that if the clearance either side of the small end along the gudgeon pin is less than that of the big end/crankshaft end float, a bending moment will be applied to the con rod. If that is what your saying yo...

Re: 1935 15 Engine Rebuild - crank end float ...

Crankshaft end float dependes upon the design of the engine. If it is controlled by two ground surfaces on adjacent webs of one main bearing, then it will be in the order of (say) 0.002 to 0.004 inches. However, if the design is such that the end float is controlled "either end" of the mai...

Re: 1935 15 Engine Rebuild - crank end float ...

I may be wrong of course, but could you check that again - as "two thou" end float seems incredibly small given "crank end float" is usually about twenty thou.

Could it be a miss-print with one two many naughts?
