Re: Aftermarket Fan Wiring Help Needed
It always stumps me why classic car owners do not set their electric fans to run on after the engine is switched off, which I mentioned very early on. As Richard has mentioned it makes a huge difference to cooling the temperature of the rad coolant and also moves the air around the engine bay to pre...

Re: Aftermarket Fan Wiring Help Needed
Just be careful to check the relay provided, if it has a diode within it, it will be polarity sensitive and if the wrong way round will produce a dead short. Look on the casing for a diode symbol and ensure you fit it with the pointy end to the positive, in your case earth. I suspect the relay supp...

Re: V8-250 horn ring issue
Hello Andy, The 4x screws should be fully tightened. The movement of the horn ring makes the contact on the receiving plate allowing the horn to sound. It sounds [no pun intended] as though the gap is being compromised when you tighten the screws. Are you sure you have replaced the following in the ...

Re: Aftermarket Fan Wiring Help Needed
When the engine is not running but the electric fan is, it creates air circulation within the engine bay - more so if the fan is situated between the rad and engine. This prevents under bonnet temperatures dramatically increasing which occurs as a result of heat off the engine. Unmoved air remains s...

Re: Aftermarket Fan Wiring Help Needed
Richard, None of these items in your diagram are polarity sensitive, hence your battery supply feed is purely from the live terminal, which in your case will be the negative terminal. I have attached another diagram which is what I use for all my electric fans. Ignore the earth symbol on the switche...

Re: FOR SALE: Daimler V8-250 Saloon - Manual Transmission
Hello,
Having made further enquires and despite being led to believe the car had been converted from an auto to a modern day manual gearbox; due to crossed wires.
I can confirm the this car is an ORIGINAL MANUAL OVERDRIVE V8-250 saloon, as per its exit from the factory.
Regards.
Richard.

Re: Daimler Sovereign 2 carburetter needles
Mark.
Hopefully, that will work out without additional damage to the carb body threads. If not, then you may need to consider tapping a new thread - Imperial this time to take a 3/16" thread equating to 4.76mm
Good luck and more so, considering the body housing is alloy.
Regards.

Re: Daimler Sovereign 2 carburetter needles
Mark, I'm sure Burlen will be able to assist with the thread size on those mangled screws. As you have got this far, I would try to remove the needles to check their richness code and also their condition. As has been pointed out, needles are cheap and I would replace them. A DLOC member with the sa...
