Re: Majestic Major Saloon 4.5 V8 - 1963 - repair project (DQ451)

It is a fine looking car. I hope that the recommissioning is not as big a job as feared. From experience get your mechanic to check things like the brake hoses and replace them, replace old fuel lines with modern equivalents for safety and pull the rsaiator out to have it mechanically cleaned as ove...

Re: Special Sports Tool Storage

Hi Chris, The jack handle on my car just pulls apart, there is (from memory) a little sprung boss on the square shaft at the top of the jack that the handle slides down on to and clicks into place. I am told that the jack should extend but mine doesn't, so something to look at: possibly a squirt of ...

Re: Special Sports Tool Storage

Hi Graham,

I have yet to fully fathom all the tool storage in the DE, there is one on the driver side wheel arch I have yet to fill!

Re: Special Sports Tool Storage

Hi Chris, And one more photo! So the tool carrier sits on the two timber strips on the spare wheel well floor to the left of the spare wheel, secured by straps if they are still there. the foot pump actually sits within the tool carrier. The tool roll sits between the spare wheel and the lip of the ...

Re: Special Sports Tool Storage

Hi Chris, There is a steel tool carrier that fits to the left of the spare wheel that holds the jack handle and oiler as well as the foot pump. If you have the Great Marques Video of Daimler you will see the arrangement displayed by the Late great David Adcock on his own beautifully restored Special...

Re: Major Remains

Oh to be clever enough to splice a Special Sports body on to a Majestic Major chassis!

Re: List numbers

Hi Steve, Chris Maher may be able to help. He has all the Daimler Manuals so maybe could flick through them looking for that list number, 25470. You saw my email that I finally extracted the digit and took the Special Sports in to have the leaking fluid flywheel seal replaced? The mechanic was going...
