What a wonderful thing. Monobloc engine so there isn’t a head gasket. Problem must be elsewhere.

Re: 1934 Lanchester 15/18 AXM 475
Antony, Are you able to correct your typo in the heading? It’s a 15/18 not 15/80. Thanks. Although I’m no longer the Registrar for the model, I can confirm that this car is known to the DLOC. I recall that there is some history and photographs in the Club records. Let’s hope this lovely car finds an...

Re: Majestic Major camshaft
Hi, I can recommend Newman Cams
http://www.newman-cams.com/
I had a Lanchester camshaft reconditioned by them. It was good enough to recondition but had they found it wanting, they would have manufactured a new one for me.
Regards, Ranald

Re: Barker production records
Hi, The Kithead Trust website states that Coventry (DU) registration records are with The Coventry History Centre. They should be able to give you details of the first owner and maybe the supplying garage. Here is a link:

Good luck, Ranald

Re: Rear hub oil seal.
Hi, I did the same job on my 1933 Lanchester 15/18 several years ago. The hub seals threads were different on each side of the car. They corresponded with the direction of the wheel nuts. Do you have a parts book for your car. This would be a good place to confirm if the units were supplied in pairs...
