Re: LA10 Oil Pressure Query
Hi, Hopefully someone else will come into this discussion. I’m struggling a bit. I thought these spin on filter units replaced the original unit including the original pressure relief valve (ball and spring), however your description suggests you effectively have 2 pressure relief valves. How can yo...

Re: LA10 Oil Pressure Query
Hello, If I’m understanding what you are doing in these tests I assume the oil is cold. Once the engine is running and the oil comes up to temperature the conditions change. The oil becomes thinner and circulates more freely and therefore is less likely to reach the point at which the oil pressure r...

Re: Preselect gearchange not always engaging
Ah, I remember now seeing the advert for a Ten. Looks lovely. Just another thought on gear selection. Make sure the gear change pedal travel is impeded by carpet or anything else such as a modified floor. All the best, Ranald

Re: Ld10 front hubs
Mike, From memory, they were washers for a tray inside the sump belonging to a Lanchester 15/18, so probably not what you are looking for. I’ve since sold the car and the spare washers. Although it’s a few years ago I think the service and price charged byLasermaster was good. All the best, Ranald

Speedo cable into gearbox oil leak
Hello, I’ve posted this under technical and motoring matters as the car is not a DLOC make but I think the issue is probably an issue with a lot of 1930s cars. The speedo cable goes into the gearbox below the oil level. There is a constant drip of oil from it. My question is ….once I remove the spee...

I was interested to hear about the Bala company (not far from me as it happens). I’ve looked them up and they are:

Re: Insurance records at askmid.com
I always think scam first. Proceed with care. If it was me I’d verify whether the communication from the police is authentic. If it is I’d prove to them that I was insured. We have to be so careful with our personal data these days.
