Re: Major Remains

Better still the similar but larger body already mounted on the larger chassis, of which very few were made.

The unique equivalent Empress MkIIa body transplant has already been done of course, and is currently in Switzerland.

Re: Conquest Heads - Differences

Thanks Henry, that's very kind of you. However I should have been more thorough in the first instance! I was idly leafing through the Conquest range workshop manual the other evening, to find that, with the exception of the cam profiles, the camshafts in all varieties of the engine are of the same d...

Re: Conquest Heads - Differences

Richard I'm surprised to see that it is over a year since the last post on this topic. Today I finally managed to shift enough stuff to gain access to the tops of the Conquest and Century cylinder heads, with a gauge and one of David Beales' DJ cylinder head gaskets, as in your earlier photograph. U...

Re: Exhaust Manifold

David Manners had cast iron manifolds many moons ago, but they were crude and heavy compared to the beautifully light and graceful original 4:1 design. Stainless Exhaust Specialist of Huthwaite, Sutton-in-Ashfield (stainless-exhaust.com) have made stainless copies of the original design for some yea...

Re: UFOs & Aliens

To divert slightly and briefly, I was always very fond of the artist Roy Cross's work, it stood out in comparison with other illustrator's pictures as being seemingly effortlessly accurate and artistic; if you search in the usual ways online you will find much of his output in aircraft and marine ar...

Re: UFOs & Aliens

A second try, much smaller file. I've learned a little more about my camera.

You'll need a magnifying glass to read the small print, but I can send the larger file by email if you pm me.

OK?

Re: UFOs & Aliens

I hoped to add a photo of the Eagle SP250 centrefold illustration of 6 January 1962, but the file is too large! I'm open to thoughts on how to reduce the size, thanks. A personal non-alien perspective: that illustration and description of the car was a major influence on my decision to buy one eight...

Antony

Message received and understood.

Unfortunately the image is somewhat larger than A4 and I don't have an A3 scanner. I'll try to photograph it and will post the outcome if it is reasonable. Alternatively if you'd like the photograph itself I can email it to you.

Re: UFOs & Aliens

Thanks for the reminder of the Halcyon days of the 'Eagle' and Dan Dare, otherwise known for its centre-fold illustrations, one of which featured the SP250; I have a copy of that framed. I chose a rival product called the 'Rocket', of which I remember O, other than that it was edited by Douglas Bade...

Re: braking power unit SP 250

Dennis Re the servo related symptoms that you describe I'm not sure that I can help you much. Reference to my service record reveals that I fitted the servo in early 1988, 25,000m ago and I cannot recall any difficulties following its fitting. Yes the pedal was firm with short travel beforehand, and...
