Saloon exhaust box mounting
Hello, Have any of you a photo of your exhaust box (center) mounting bracket and how it attaches to body and exhaust? The previous owner fitted or had fitted a stainless exhaust and I have always thought it was a pretty ghastly job, hangs too low IMHO and connected by bits 'o rubber, see horrible pi...

Re: Saloon float chamber overflows
Well, having driven about 700 kms during the past week, half of which in, around, up and down the Alps and the old boy did pant a bit above 3000 feet in the temps and air humidity we have been almost enjoying and they were both still dribbling a tad on shut down causing onlookers/smellers/passer Bye...

Re: Saloon leaf spring lubrication
Thank you Syd and Richard, I am intending to perform the job in-situ being a bit lazy and having done so much recently! I have secured a can of Graphite grease lubricant which seems to fit the bill perfectly when I read the instructions and specs on the tin, the makers claim it does not contain sili...

Re: V8 250 exhaust woes
Hello Steve That could be a b****r of a job if not impossible. On my left hand drive saloon I had to remove the lower (non power steering) column just to disconnect the manifold. Perhaps this "Faceache "Link works, may help. https://www.facebook.com/groups/332612726767426/permalink/4097450...

Re: Radiator/Grille Access Panel
Hello Matthew
Just took a look at mine and am pretty sure they are 10/32 UNF. I fit the panel that was missing on mine some years ago and seem to recall that tap size when cleaning out the threads.
Regards
Rob c.

Re: Saloon float chamber overflows
Hello Christopher,
I forgot to mention that I checked the floats, there seemed to be empty as I could not hear any sloshing around in there when shook and I sank them in fluid for a while and no bubbles escaped.
Strange that its both sides.
Regards
Rob

Saloon float chamber overflows
Back again! Following fuel tank relining, top end overhaul, rebuild including minor carb refurb / components check all is quite ok except for a persistant minor drip / incontinence from the overflow pipes onto the cross member, following shut down, I have since extended these tubes to spot this more...

Saloon leaf spring lubrication
Hello all Though I would bring this subject up again as I think mine are creaking a bit occasionally. The topic crops up in the old forum and the advice seems to be mainly lubricate with penetrating oil as mentioned in the workshop manual, closely followed by a spray lubricant with a PTFE content. I...
