Re: Manual gearbox numbers

Thank you Richard for that very comprehensive report, shows as you say how difficult it is to give any sort of accurate numbers. You have hit the nail on the head with the real issue with these cars. My V8 250 MOD cost me £7,000 14 years ago and along side the likes of the humble Ford escort MK1 and...

Re: Manual gearbox numbers

I have lost track of the number of times this question has come up on this and the old forum, and the answer is always the same around 700, but there continues to be misleading adverts that suggest the number was much lower and claim to know how many are still in use which as Richard says, and he sh...

Re: Daimler E20 rear hubs

Dave Philpot the E20 DLOC joint registrar would be your best bet, not much he does not know about E20's contact details in the magazine, I know he does read this forum but does not now contribute, but he is a good guy and I am sure he would help. Otherwise there may be something on the club manuals ...

Re: “The Daimler Tradition”

Great book as you say, has been and still is readily available on Amazon for £25, not sure as it is still in print it would not be a breach of copyright to supply photo copies?

Re: AC fuel pump

The AC fuel pump has always been a reliable and good workhorse, but apart from grit or obstructions there can be a couple of problems that stop it working, the diaphragm and the inlet and outlet valves all of which must work properly and are available as spares. I would always replace all three item...

That was a good price for the Daimler and what a price for the Lanchester. Someone really wanted that book too. Syd

Re: 2.5 V8 - New Owner

Welcome to this very useful and informative forum, and do join the DLOC it is well worth the money and there is a very good V8 registrar, Richard Long, there is not a lot he does not know about Daimler V8. I too chose a V8 over a Mk2 Jaguar and in my opinion the V8 Daimler is a superior car to the s...

Re: DB18/2 lifting the car

Interesting solution Richard, sadly too late for me the pit as it is would be too small for a tank and new concrete. Digging up the floor is not a viable option any more without a massive upheaval.

At the risk of putting this post even further off course, PM does work fine, except that for obvious reasons the recipient has to log on to see if he/she has a reply and then he/she has to spot that there is a PM waiting, which is a tiny point in the top right hand corner of the home screen. That co...
