Re: 10hp S10E, eBay, in the Midlands.

Nice motor and in what looks to be fine condition as you say Ivor.

It is also listed on Suningdale Classics web site if you miss it now, but with no price, bet it will be a lot more than £5,000 if the auction ends without a bid.

Re: oil leak SP250

Many thanks for the quick response Colin. I have to admit this has been a problem for some time. At first I thought it was a rocker cover problem and fitted Wilf Stevens "O" ring cure which cured a front oil drip but not the one in the gearbox area. Without doubt the oil is coming out of t...

oil leak SP250

My SP250 V8 engine leaks a small amount of oil, about half a tea cup full when laid up during the winter. It drips some oil from the hole in the bottom of the flywheel housing at all times, leaves a ten pence piece size drip when parked up after a run. An irritatingly trivial but none the less incon...

Re: Daimler DB18

My experience of selling a car with an age related number is that there is resistance to buying and except in exceptional cases, an age related number lowers the value by more than the original number was worth. The logic is of course that whilst DVLA allow it, reg numbers often have a value more th...

Re: Daimler DB18

Nice colour scheme, just wondered about that number, is it original or is it an age related number as that would greatly affect the value. Syd

Re: Steering shakes....

Morning Jed. I think you have diagnosed the problem with that spring, at the very least it is something that needs sorting as I am sure you appreciate. If you think about it, with one spring weaker than the other the car will try to steer to that side as the whole car will be tipped toward that duff...

Re: Steering shakes....

There are several reasons why a bump in the road would start the shakes you describe. The most common, which I presume you will have already checked would be tyre/wheel problems such as balance or uneven tyre pressure, loose missing or broken spokes. Faulty dry or worn shock absorbers. Incorrect toe...

Re: Chassis Lubrication Daimler Conquest

Norman, as has been said any thick oil, and the thicker the better, BUT as the spring bushes are or should be bronze, it is important not to use what I know as Hypress oils, they destroy bronze, I think, and perhaps some one will correct me if I am wrong but they are known as hypoid oils. Syd
