Re: LD10 head torque
Guys While on this topic I'd like to get a pair, or even just one, of part no 52, the "engaging rod roller joint" at each end of the gear change pedal rod, to have in the spares box. Can anyone suggest a source? I've tried john Nash without success. One of them let go in a former Century o...

Re: Switch replacements needed
Andy There is another similar 3 position window switch used on Hooper cars. It has the same ivory switch piece but with a different casing and without the protecting lugs on either side. It is fitted in a shallow oval depression in the wooden door cap rail. This type was used in Hooper bodies made i...

Re: Conquest boot lid
Coincidentally there are photos of a Regency II boot on another current thread. Wouldn't it have been good if a similar boot style had been adopted for the Conquest? The squarer backside would have suited it rather well IMHO, but it has a much higher loading height.

Re: Conquest Century mkII - HD carb diaphragms
Richard Thank you for this advisory note. This is of course applicable to SPs as well. I'll get at least one spare pair of diaphragms, perhaps two (Century and SP250). Looking ahead, perhaps worth considering for any HD6 SUs intending to go to the DLOC International in Holland, 2018 I think. Cheers ...

Re: Painting Mild Steel Exhausts
Richard Yes, I think the original systems were made of substantially heavier gauge metal and were probably fairly straightforward to assemble, being much more accurately made. I have a couple of heavy old mild steel Century silencers somewhere in the garage, but I recall some replacement mild steel ...

James Your patience is soooo amazing and, well, mature! Quite astonishing even, given that you weren't able to nip out to the garage and admire it whenever you felt the need. But you are almost there. Soon you'll be able to actually sit in it and start the engine to bathe in that gorgeous noise, whi...

Re: Who is online.
This Forum is now almost as familiar as was its predecessor in its heyday. I've not had any difficulty accessing the old one using the link at the bottom of the Forum contents page any time I've tried it for a least the past 3 weeks. Perhaps it will gradually become more accepted and more widely use...

Re: Painting Mild Steel Exhausts
There are many high temperature sprayable exhaust finishes available from many automobile parts and accessory suppliers such as Halfords, Frost and so on, in a wide range of colours. I suggest that you use the power of Google to narrow your choice of colour and source. From personal experience the f...

Re: 2.5 V8 Saloon
I think that the secret is only known to Russ Carpenter. When he does a cylinder head, it comes back with the tubes removed, refinished and refitted with new copper washers. He must have a substantial custom made tool for the purpose. but oil in the tubes is of little consequence. If you don't like ...
