Re: SP 250 Manifolds
Thanks for the reference Colin; another Scottish SP owner had stainless 4:1 original style manifolds made by SES a few years ago and there was a problem with his when first received also, which I believe has been resolved successfully. I had asked SES to make 4:2:1 tubular manifolds for me, in 1999....

Re: Daimler DJ 252 Cabriolet
Henry Thank you for the photos of the engine bay; the air cleaner looks very strange. As you say there may have been an oil bath air cleaner fitted previously although the circular bath on the near side of the engine is absent. What is there above the rocker cover resembles a strict Conquest air cle...

Re: SP450
Patrick I have one but I didn't create it, I bought it a number of years ago having decided that if one came along I'd be interested. I then started to refurbish it because it had been neglected by the vendor; this is still not finished due to a long list of interruptions. I hope that it will be com...

Re: Brain Cell location
I have a feeling that all these matters will seem tiny and irrelevant in a few years when supporters of autonomous driving cars manage to convince the EU or UK government that we must all surrender our right to drive in order to improve road safety statistics. I kid you not, the battle has already s...

Re: birth certificate
JDHT also provided me with a Production Record Trace Certificate for my Century, with a 1954 chassis, including the date of dispatch to Hooper & Co for the body, the date of dispatch to the dealer and the date of first registration, both in 1955.
Well worth the cost.

Re: Daimler DJ 252 Cabriolet
I suspect that the chrome detail at the wheelarches is of the self adhesive plastic type. The condition of some areas of the interior can't really be regarded as original, but perhaps that is taken in to consideration in the price. A sight of the engine bay would be helpful.

Sorry, no you shouldn't need tubes although you will need the older large size tubeless valves, not every tyre dealer or garage stocks these now.

Re: Conquest tyres
Guys I don't wish to spoil the topic, but I thought that the Conquest saloon standard cross ply tyre size was/is 6.70 x 15, was 6.40 x 15 not the Roadster and New DHC tyre size? 195/80R15 is a reasonable alternative to the 6.70. I tried 185/80 radials only to find that they are definitely too small;...
