Re: What's in a name?

When I relate my old car to someone who shows an interest and say Daimler the usual response is "Oh you mean Jaguar", I then have to enlighten them to the fact that Daimler made cars long before Jaguar existed. Much to their surprise.

Re: Split pin removal

Split pins are usually quite soft. Where a split pin has rusted into a clevis pin I would hold the head end of the clevis pin with a pair of pliers and file what remains of the split pin until it is flush then remove the clevis pin. Then you can put the clevis pin in a vice and tap the remains of th...

Re: DB18 fuel filler protection casing

The fixing flange is 25 mm wide. I haven't taken the part back to the shed yet, it aroused my 2 year old grandsons curiosity!

Re: Starter Motor and Dynamo Repair/Restoration

I can recommend Broadway Electrical, we use them at work and have done for years. Bob there was Lucas trained and what he doesn't know about Lucas isn't worth knowing.

I have no financial or other connection with Broadway, they are very helpful and knowledgeable people.

Re: DE36 brakes

My suggestion for removing the nylock nut from the stud would be to use 2 plain nuts on the end you have taken the nylock nut off. Lock the 2 plain nuts together ( or half nuts if you haven't got enough thread for full nuts) then remove the nylock from the other and then undo the 2 plain nuts.
