I just went and looked at my spare tappet chest and remove one of the tappets which did indeed expose the bronze bushing. The sad part is I recently discarded another complete system due to a crack in the upper lip.

Goeff, Interesting enough Burlen are sending UF needles, new jets, floats etc and recommended to retain the .125" size due the body size, and as the main jet on the HD8 is a single size apparently not so on the HD6 thus making it easier to tune........Stephen Rawlins at Burlen said the UF needl...

The engine does have a cam from Isky, pistons from Vermiel if I recall and are high compression for sure. I have been in communication with SU Carbs Burlen Ltd and they have sized some need and jets some I'm going to wait for them to arrive and revisit the issue. It makes me wonder why I heading dow...

Made a bunch of head way this evening. As I had stated before I had the carburetors overhaul by a SU specialist [?????] I compared the throttle butterflies internal position with the carb on the engine but with the dash pot etc removed. The right carb throttle butterfly was not closing off completel...

I emailed the rebuilder and he suggested the dash pots may have too much oil in them. I did some testing after work and this is what I have told him: I removed the linkage and wired the throttle linkage closed, butterflies are closed. Made sure there was just a few drops on oil in the dash pots and ...
