I do have two heads the I had recondition with new valves, later style guides and one of the pair new valve seats but have more than $1000 into them -- probably more than you are looking to spend.........

Dennis.

Did you ever make the trip East??

Sorry about that, but the system is working. It's difficult to use because a private message depends on the other person logging in and noticing that a message is waiting. Sometimes messages go unread for weeks.

My advice is always to use email as most people check their emails every day.

There are four currently on UK ebay, including a refurbished pair from Russ Carpenter.

reply to Nick:-
there always seem to be issues in getting a private Uk sellers to ship to my location ( northern California USA) furthermore the 3 that I had purchased out of Uk over the past 4 years via ebay, have all been beyond economical repair.. costly scrap.. combination of previous welding and skimming.. and badly comprimised valve seats..the primary issue here is that i cannot find anyone who can replace the valve seats when they are beyond limits .. my 'go to' guy for cylinder head work broke his cutting tool when attempting to replace some daimler valve seats.. originally they are cast into head and are tapered.. so replacement is NOT straightforward..one has to put new seats inside the originals.. its a very tricky operation due to there being little leeway as regards space for the seat to fill..the seats in these heads are hard and brittle and hence difficult to cut thin without them exploding.. once the sats had broken into press the only remedy is to weld up the hole..cut back to size..and fit a new seat in the welded portion.. if replacing all 16 seats this is an extremely time consuming and hence, costly job..furthrmore that will never be as secure as the original seats .. the risk of a replacement seat coming out and causing havoc is not one I wish to take.. I was in contact with Andrew Carpenter a week or so back, re -exchange heads, but was informed there is a long waiting period ( 3 months).. so am looking elsewhere for solutions..I just sent a follow up email via ebay system to confirm this and am awaiting reply.. in the meantime..I still need heads.. 6 in all to cover current rebuilds..

Just to update.. thanks to help from a member in N Ireland who kindly sent me a pair of sound restorable heads and the fact I managed to find 2 complete engines within reasonable distance , I now have sufficient cylinder heads for my current needs... and can in fact offer one pair of fully restored heads, if someone in USA is having issues sourcing them.. these are reconditioned to very high standard.. welded and resurfaced, lightly ported, new modern guides with seals, the latest valves etc etc.. I also have extra engine parts ..including crankshafts that are std size etc I also have a spare SP250 cylinder block which is bare but has its sump ( oil pan) etc..
