Water Temp Gauge Repairer Required

Post by JT7196 »

Hi Chaps, took the Lanchester down to the coast today and suddenly realised that the Temparature was not reading at all, so my obvious question is, who would you recommend to get it repaired please .
I do need it repaired reasonably quickly and of course at a "Resonanable" price , not asking too much am I ?????

Cheers A'l

Hi Peter, as the Temperature Gauge sensing bulb will not pass through the back plate of the gauge Assy, I have had to send the complete assembly to Speedograph, this includes the Fuel and Ammeter gauges.
They have quoted a " Ball Park" figure of £80.00, but I expect that they will need replace the Capillary Tube , so I fully expect the final price to increase, also with Two week turnaround .......we will see !!!
Anyway, many thanks for your help, I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers A'l

Hi Al

All you had to do was cut a slit in the back plate and slide the capillary tube through it.

Hi Chaps, Temp Gauge cluster has now returned from Speedograph , with a new Capillary Tube fitted, they even had a look at the Ammeter which was always a bit " Slow" in operating ,even though I didn't actually ask them to, just need to find the time to fit it back into the Lanchester along with the new Water Outlet casting that I had purchased from Marcel.
Must try and get her back on the road for Drive it day, which I believe is next Sunday,so I had better get a move on !!!!

Cheers A'l
