Lj200 number plate And reversing light

Post by Graham »

My number plate light is very pitted and looks worse for wear. Does anyone know where I can get a new one from or if there is a different make of vehicle that use the same unit?

The part of the light that the lights fit in is in very good condition, it's the monkey metal back plate which as all the gubbins in that is badly pitted, shame you just can't buy this part.

Graham,

The backplate is not that visible, and the visible part could be filled and painted if you are concerned about its cosmetic appearance. As far as the working parts, I have had to do extensive solder and hot glue repairs to the number plate/reversing lights on my DJ250 and DJ252 to get them working. The electrical components of this light are of poor quality and poor design, but can be repaired.

Thanks Chris. I have not tried the electrical side of the light. I just stripped it down and cleaned it up, but I will do this now before I go any further. And then maybe rub it down and paint with either the same colour as the car or use the chrome paint you can buy .
