2.5 V8 Saloon Lower steering column

Post by Alpine Daimler »

Hello all,

I am looking for a lower steering column for my 2.5 V8 saloon. I want to replace my "Metal socket" type which is worn for the later rubber "doughnut" coupling type.

Anybody out there have one for disposal or sale?

Have tried e-bay for a long time now but no luck.

Regards

Rob C.

I believe the runner doughnut type lower steering column that connect upper column to steering box is the 'earlier' style ( '59 - 64 on the Jag Mk2) a far better bet is the XJ6 style lower column..these are sold with the steering rack conversions that are supplied by SNG Barratt..( I believe originally conceived by Vicarage and likely still produced by them)
