Valve Springs for E 20

Post by headlight37 »

Hello everyone,

I am looking for at least two valve springs for my 2565 cc engine (Daimler Light Twenty 1-1937) to replace the broken ones. Or can someone give me some advice on how to proceed if I can't find a replacement?

Thanks for any support,

Joern

Sorry,
Thank you very much for the quick answers, the tip and the offer, which I am happy to follow.

Today the cylinder block is cleaned with dry ice blasting, then the valves are sanded in and maybe the replacement of the broken springs will work quickly, the rest seems to be in good condition.

I’ve got some used spares springs for my Lanchester 15/18. I’ve checked the parts books and they are the same part number for the 15/18 and E20. If i can help, let me know. regards, Ranald

Interesting.
Will dry ice blasting remove the hardened silt inside the block?

Hi Graham,
It was offered to me as a very efficient and gentle cleaning method by a company that has gathered a lot of experience with it and has already carried out such cleanings for "VW Classic". It should be carried out tomorrow or on Friday and I am happy to report.

Many thanks to everyone who helped to discover the valve springs we needed. Neil and Ranald can now deliver them to me and in the background many club colleagues have supported me with this topic.

Thanks to everyone!
Jörn
