Million-to-one shot!

Post by Stan Thomas »

Does anyone with an early Daimler or other make of car up to around 1933 with H & TV door locks have key number LL26, so a couple could be cut??

A little confusing, but sometimes the door lock itself had the number LL26 on the rim with a diiferent number key - and sometimes the key itself was numbered LL26.

Been searching for years.

Stan.

There are 3 listings on eBay for LL keys.
The keys are cheap enough but the postage from America is expensive.
It might be worth messaging the sellers and asking for a sensible postage price for 2 keys.
They are about £23 for 2

Hi Marcel,

Do you have the site address as I cannot find the specific one in the States you refer to!

Stan.

The suppliers came up on eBay with their international sellers.
You could always looking up eBay USA.
Maybe one of our American friends could get you some at a much better price.

Thanks Chris - but although it is sheer co-incidence, the range of "LL" designated keys this chap supplies are for Hudson locks not vintage H & T Vaughn from Wolverhampton but who sold out to Chubb in 1928 - so I'll just have to keep looking!

Yes - they are like the ones on ebay and I followed them up and although they do not specifically have the right number, I tried to buy the four advertised together thinking it was "worth a try" - but ebay rejected my attempt and I've heard no more!

what are the three keys in your previous picture as I have not seen them on ebay.

Stan i think the photo was a past listing i also will ask a mate who was in the lock business if it is possible to have some made, he has sold up and retired now but sure he might have the name of a source.
If you got a key it may be possible to make the rest fit just depends what is available there are so many on the market now, master, sub master etc you can buy a suite of keys soley for your own locks.
