Splined hubs wanted for Daimler V8 250 (Also loan of Puller)

Post by Sporty »

Hi all, not the type of thing likely to be hanging around in anyone's shed/workshop but you never know. I think most people, as myself, are upgrading from steels to wires, rather than the other way around, but if you do happen to have a set of splined hubs (or even odd/single ones), I'd be very interested.

Obviously, I need to remove the old hubs first, and if anyone has a Churchill Puller to remove the rears, that they would be willing to loan for a few days, please get in touch.

As you'd imagine, I now have a set of rusty steel wheels and some rusty hubcaps if anyone is looking for some. I will also have the 5 stud hubs when I manage to take them off. I'm in Cardiff if anyone is interested.

Thanks in advance. Steve

Hi Steve
I have some old hubs but you need to fit new hubs and MWS can supply tubeless wire wheels, The problem with second hand hubs and wheels is the splines will be worn this will show up as play like a bad wheel bearing.
New hubs are about £90 each.

Hi Chris, thanks for the advice. Yes, you are right of course, it's always wise to fit new running gear components. Unfortunately, due to having MUCH work to do on the car, I do need to make sacrifices somewhere to be able to complete it. I don't intend to be driving it hard, just a local run around, and I can always upgrade them at a later date. I've sent you a message/email too. Cheers, Steve
