D15/DB17 Oil filter housing

Post by grahamemmett »

A member in Belgium has a DB17 with the late D15 and early DB 2100cc engine and he has a crack in the oil filter housing. Currently filled with goo to try to stop the leak.
Anybody got a spare they can part with?
Please e-mail me at my club e-mail address or through the forum if you can help.

If he can't find another good one, he can try to find a company which is specialised in laser welding. laser welding is a cold welding without bringing heat into the material and without deforming the shap of the part.

Hi, I seem to recall Marcel commissioned some spin on filter assemblies for the Daimler 15. Might be worth asking him. With the oil pressure inside the filter cartridge that goo could fail catastrophically. Best wishes, Ranald
