Hello Everyone,
is there a supplier of Ethanol Resistant Seals for the HS6 carbs on my Conquest Century. Yet again the Jet Tube seal has failed on one of the Carbs. Getting fed up rebuilding the Carbs every 18 months or so!
Regards,
Paul

Re: Ethanol resistant Carb Seals
Hello Paul,
A call to Burlen, may assist - I know they do the ethanol proof "stay-up" floats.
https://burlen.co.uk/
The other alternative is to use an ethanol proof combatant such Millers VSPe:

Regards.
Richard.

Re: Ethanol resistant Carb Seals
Thanks for the replies. Had a look at the Burlen Website, they do a complete Jet Bearing assembly which is Ethanol resistant. I shall be ordering a pair.

Re: Ethanol resistant Carb Seals
Any type of fluid seal that deteriorates will allow leakage - if your carbs leak or the fuel lines degrade you will see and small fuel.
If you examine seals that have been affected by ethanol their change of physical appearance and construction will be obvious to the eye. Ethanol degrades rubber and the seal becomes fragile when touched or in some cases ends up being a rubber pulp.
In my earlier post, the suggestions there will go a long way to keep ethanol under control.
I'd also add that all fuel hose on cars should now be at least R9 rated or better still R14. One of the best ethanol resistant fuel pipe you can buy is Gates Barricade; easily obtained via Moss.
Regards.
