What are your advice about the things to verify when someone visits and try a DB18 Saloon or a Consort ?
I have not found a buying guide on the website or the forums, but perhaps a such guide exists anyway.

Please add Reg. nrs. when posting a photo or anything about a car as this will help searches. Don't add punctuation next to nr. as this negates search.

Owning both, the DB18 is much better than the Consort for many reasons, the main being the bonnet on the DB18 being so easy to allow engine access where on the Consort you are limited. The 18 has a sliding sunroof and opening windscreen which is good on hot days. The ignition timing is adjustable on the 18 from inside.

Re: How to buy a DB18/Consort
It depends a lot on the car as with the D18-2 you have all the usual lookouts with regards the interior condition, the ash wood frame for woodworm and as the body, bonnet, wings and headlamp supports being steel will need checking closely for evidence of rust also other specifics will depend on if you are buying to restore or one already restored

Thank you for your answer.
John answered the DB18 is better than the Consort, but as far as I understand, the brakes of the Consort are better than the ones of the DB18. Am I right or not ?

Re: How to buy a DB18/Consort
Hi,
I recall that there was an article many years ago in a Classic and Sports car or similar magazine about buying a DB 18.
I will try to unearth the copy I have and send it through.
Cheers

Hi Sherlock,
If you email me on: peter@schwartz.com.au I can send two scanned articles to you. They don't specifically tell a buyer what to look for but give a great overall viewpoint of the DB 18 range.
Cheers
