Door handle springs

Post by Db n j »

Looking for some interior door / window winder springs- the ones that sit behind the ferule that pushes against the handle.

Seem to have lost them !!

Sure they are common to many vehicles.

Max diameter is 7/8inch, but 3/4 would be about right. Ideally need 6 more.

Thanks

No joy from paul beck. Does no one have an odd spring from a consort or conquest that might do ?

The spring you are looking for has a diameter of 7/8 inch small end and 1 3/8 inch large end with an overall length of 1 inch when removed.
I have six complete handle escutcheons if you cannot find your springs.

Thanks graham

Had another look for the originals, and found in spares I saved from a broken car, 3 originals. They are 7/8 straight, 3/4 uncoiled length.

So now only 3 short. Had a look on Internet, and may be able to get some, albeit at a price.

Will let you know the result.

Thanks

Hi David, I have a Terrys 'service' box of springs, various diameters and all about a foot long both compression and expasion types you are most welcome to try these and may be able to cut to desired length. I can bring them over one evening if you wish.
