The older cars in the Daimler range have the inbuilt body lines that almost encourage a two tone colour scheme. The recent adverts for Consorts are a prime example and the DE36 LTJ286 has a two tone scheme which has been improved by the current owner.
My own preference is that the darker colour should be above the lighter as in the case of the DE36 and thus the sides of the car would be in the lighter and contrasting colour and the bonnet of this car has now been painted to match the roof, not the sides. However, the grey Consort seems to have suffered an incorrect colour balance, in my eyes at least.
Now I am sure that some owners of Conquests whose colour scheme is light over dark. e.g. silver over black would or might disagree.
Does anyone know of a computer programme that would permit an owner to take a photograph of his/her car and then change its colour and colour layout to try out the contrasts before going to the expense of painting it first? On the old forum there was an American gentleman who owned a DR450 in dark green and he posted several photographs, or rather illustrations, of the car with varying contrasting layouts.

Colour schemes
Re: Colour schemes
If the present colour scheme is very light and very dark, you could get a good idea by reversing white and black, most simple photo software programs like Irfanview allow this.
You might have to convert a colour photo to black and white first.

Re: Colour schemes
If you have Adobe Photoshop Elements (if not, it's available as a free trial download) and a clearly defined profile shot of the car, one of the simplest ways to experiment with colour options is to use the 'Replace Colour' tool.
As an example, starting with this...
....it's very easy to change it to this...
...or any other colour combo.
There's a useful tutorial here..

Re: Colour schemes
In Africa it is preferable to have a light colour on the roof.
