You're correct of course Chris - I used the term incorrectly. The pictures are 'linked' in the same way as the Photoshop IMG code linked them.

A small "workaround" is that the restricted image can still be accessed by right clicking and then selecting "open in new window" or "open in new tab". Can be a bit slow with image heavy posts but sometimes a "picture speaks a thousand words" so its worth the extra effort.
