Another Gem!

Post by Stan Thomas »

Picked up another gem regarding early Daimler folklore whilst in conversation at the A.G.M. yesterday.

Why is the speedo on the left, whereas it could better be seen by the driver if it were on the right more directly in front of him?

Apparently, it stems from the requirement for the rear seat occupants to be able to keep an eye on their chauffeur's speed. Come back "Gosford Park" - all is forgiven!
