Anyone see the 1963 film "Sparrows Can't Sing" yesterday - in which the character Fred (played by Roy Kinear) has an old Daimler - which he refers to in the dialogue as having "broken down because the fluid flywheel was leaking". Such attention to detail - even though he did not pre-select any gear to drive off and the sound was dubbed so there was not the characteristic whine when he pulled away.
Now don't read any further unless you are prepared to have it indelibly implanted in your mind to look out for when watching films. ...................
................... Every time a car pulls up or drives away in a film you will see white condensation coming out of the exhaust - thats because its just been started up to drive it on the set
P.S.
I take a size 42 Anorak.

Re: Getting it Right!
Not related to Daimler, but related to films, the soundtrack for James Bond driving the Triumph Stag away from customs at Dover in Diamonds are Forever is that of a Triumph Herald! I guess the producers couldn't tell the difference.
I do also have an anorak.

As it was just the 14th Stag made, presumably the sound person didn't know what one sounded like. The sound on many programmes and films is foley work so it's rarely "right".
