A Signature image has to be a website URL from a site like photobucket or Flickr using [ IMG] and [ /IMG] tags while attachments in the post and avatars can be uploaded from your computer.

On the whole I think it better that there be no photos in signatures. Otherwise the useful forum content can be visually swamped by repetitive appearances of the same pictures.
I'm sure we can all think of forums where that is the case.
Just my opinion.

I tend to agree with you. I've actually reduced the size of mine and it probably should be smaller. There should definitely be a size limit.
