DLOC Vehicle Required - FILMING

Post by classiclife »

Folks,

I received the following email earlier today - see below, whereby a suitable Daimler (perhaps Lanchester) is required for a film. The vehicle must be pre 1930 !!

It is an interesting opportunity and the attached YouTube clip provides a clear insight and historic background - all very informative.

If this opportunity is of interest to you, I will be very grateful if you could email me and I will note your "expression of interest" and register accordingly.

Needless to say, the next stage of filming will not occur until the current lockdown is lifted. When this looks likely, further details will be released.

Many thanks.

Richard.

Dear Richard

I found you on line, I am helping my son Elliott Hasler with his 2nd feature film (Vindication Swim) and was looking to see if you have any Daimler owners in the South East who would be willing to help him by having their car in this movie.

The film is a true story about Mercedes Gleitze, the first British woman to swim the English Channel in 1926, any car up to 1930 would be perfectly acceptable.

Elliott is the UKs youngest Feature Film director, please look him up. He is 19 years old and has had a relatively successful film career to date, as well as reading History at Exeter University.

He has a small budget so can pay for fuel and ad hoc expenses; the film is set in the South East (we live in Hove but he is filming all over Sussex and will continue once unlocked).

Without peoples help it’s very difficult to make films at his age so I’d be very grateful if you could circulate this message to your local members England in anticipation of filming when lockdown is over.

A BBC report on Elliott and Vin Swim would be good to watch - link below
