Found it! But it took a long time as I had to look through

10 years of magazines.

It is actually the Jan/Feb 2000 edition Vol 36 number 8

It has a picture of Rosie Ramsey, the daughter of Frederick R Simms on the cover. It is not green though?

Page 39 has the Pompey cartoon in the Backfire section by Len Huff.

Cannot see it on ebay I'm afraid.

Mike

That's a lockdown task par excellence! Charge him for your time, or charge his Dad who gave him bad advice!. :D How long did it take?

Outstanding Red Team, Outstanding, get you a case of beer for that one

The current run of DMs that I have starts in 2005, but I did have a load of DMs from 85 to 95 but I chucked them away about 15 years ago, otherwise I would have looked - and come up with nothing it seems.

Hi Mike, thank you so much for taking the time to look and find it! And thank you to all who have replied on here and helped to solve this mystery. I now know at least which issue I’m after. I’m not sure, but I’m thinking that perhaps the lady on the front cover is my dads neighbours friend- it’s her photo that holds such sentimental value as they were friends for many years. She only lent the magazine to my dad as it had the Pompey FC connection.

Hi Dave
I have a copy of the magazine you are looking for. Unfortunately it is part of a complete collection from 1996 to the present. I live in Fareham and would be willing to copy the pages your friend requires. If that yould be any help.
Regards
Colin

I did flag that Brian, but no response from the OP as to whether that course of action has been taken and if so, successful.

^ yeah I'd seen your post about it on the previous page - problem is that this is the only forum I've seen where the posts in a thread are not numbered so I couldn't easily refer to it (I think it's #8) - all the info is there for the OP along with the DM edition top of this page (#11 ?)

Hi, If you are still struggling to get this back copy and I assume you are not a DLOC member, I’d be prepared to ask the Driving Member editor if he would publish a wanted ad. for you. PM me if you want to pursue this.Good luck. Ranald
