Is this a Lanchester?

Is this a Lanchester?

The photo was taken by my mother (aged 19) at Bastad tennis club in 1936 showing King Gustav V.
The Bastad tennis tournament is the Swedish Open, equivalent to Wimbledon.

It looks more like an early '30's Horch to me John - possibly a Horch Pullman Cabriolet. The radiator form is very typical of the earlier Horch models.

Horch was an interesting company. It amalgamated with Audi, DKW and Wanderer in 1932 to form Auto Union, producer of some of the most iconic and successful racing cars of the late thirties. Today it is represented only by one of the four rings of the Audi logo.

Horch couldn't use his name for a subsequent car company and so he called it Audi instead, Audi being pretty similar in Latin (listen) to Horch (harken) in German.

It was just a long shot. I thought the radiator was fairly similar to this 1925 Lanchester:

Not sure but the radiator looks to me flatter than the Horch, could it be an Issota Franchini/Fiat?

After a closer look, I was wrong - it's a Cadillac. The V8 badge (that I should have spotted the first time) is a dead giveaway.

...and I thought the Swedes were pro-British (although a lot were pro German)!
