Hi Keith, well sorry to say that I am of no help with your enquiry, but what I can say, is that having fitted my new "Solid State" Regulator, I have to say that it works absolutely superbly.
So if any of you chaps out there have a suspect Regulator, then I would thoroughly recommend getting yours modified , not cheap, but well worth the money.

thanks, all I needed was the location of the ignition wire, it can be confusing around the 63 year old nest of wires. I got it done , all working and a new Ignition switch.
