I didn't rate the portamig machine i tried it appeared to be a rip off of a Snap-on machine but not a very good one. I'm very happy with my little Italian job I own three minors as well as the Daimler so I've done plenty with it. With any machine maintainance is key don't use rusted wire or worn out tips and shrouds.

From what I've read the Portamigs get very good reviews. Is there any particular reason you didn't rate it?

It gives reasonable to good results but absolutely nothing special for the price which is quite high I've used better murex machines that cost less.
