I have a pallet truck with tandem load wheels. All the bearings need to be replaced and one set have locked up so that nylon wheel rotates around the bearing which means a badly worn wheel. Checking with those that supply such items I realised that it would be far cheaper to buy some nylon bar, bore a hole through the middle, machine a recess for the bearing at each end and thus make my own wheels.
However, my knowledge of the various materials available is next to nothing.
It is possible to buy something called "Nylon 6" but whether that is suitable for the load wheels is unknown. Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Round Nylon Bar
Re: Round Nylon Bar
Hi
There is usually a stall at Beaulieu that sells off cuts of metal and nylon sections. I do not know there name but if I think on I will get the information when I am there in a couple of weeks and send it to you. I have seen then at other auto jumbles usually the larger ones.
Regards
Colin

Thank you for that. I went into an engineering shop in the vain hope that they might have some nylon bar which they did! It seems they might be able to help.

Re: Round Nylon Bar
Try TVH, they do wheels complete with bearings and shields. Just! knock the old pins out and fit the new wheels. ( see PM)

Re: Round Nylon Bar
buy on line, try a model engineer supplier, I had some and also solid PTFE bar (round) which is better.
