Daimler (Benz), monkeys & diesel fumes

Post by John-B »

The German Daimler (Benz) has allegedly been testing diesel fumes on monkeys.

I hope Jaguar will be very quick in making it public that the UK Daimler is a completely separate company, or we will all get negative comments at shows.

VW was also accused, and Audi and another manufacturer whose name I've forgotten.

The other one was BMW.

So, let's get this right; BMW, Daimler [Benz] and VW funded some tests in which monkeys were forced to breathe in diesel exhaust fumes. Now it has been exposed, BMW, Daimler and VW are all denouncing the tests.
Forgive me for perhaps being stupid, but are not these companies now condemning themselves? Presumably until it was exposed they thought it was OK. How does that work then? Isn't that a bit like me giving myself a parking ticket when a passerby spots me parking illegally?

Apparently paid humans were also involved.
