It certainly sounds like my quote is way over the top. I think I might be visiting my local carpet shop instead. Would the original Daimler carpet have been made by Wilton?

My experience was the same Dave they were very helpful, I took in a piece of the old carpet, was never sure if it was original but assumed it was, it came off the door cards. We matched it to the shops samples, as I say in the case of the Austin it was very close to Axminster, but then it was an Austin.

Look at the Coverdale carpets site - they have ready - cut and bound sets for the Conquest.
