stud extractors

Post by Roark »

Could anyone recommend a set of stud extractors. Not the tapered ones where one has to drill a hole into the stud or bolt, nor the ones that are designed for fasteners with rounded off heads but the ones designed to grip a straight stud.
Sealey seem to make one based upon a wheel and a concentric drive. I have tried a stillson but there isn't much room to manoeuvre and the spanner keeps slipping out of line.

Hi

The best stud extractors I have seen is the Facom 287B....

The number (8, 9, 10 etc...) following the reference number 287B is for the diameter... Yes, you need one extractor for each diameter..

This kind of multisize tool is of course less expensive, but it less effective too, IMHO.

The facom tool keeps the threads in perfect shape.

Couldn't find the Britool number quickly, the Sykes Pickavant equivalent is number SP01220000. Always worked for me.
