Daimlers don't break down - you only "stop for adjustments".

I have had occasion to use the RAC over the last 8 years and found their guys very knowledgable about older cars, and they say it makes a pleasant change to work on the older cars. However, very few have any Whitworth spanners and I have had to instruct them on how stuff works on occasion. So far, between us, the car has always been made driveable and a successful result ensued. The biggest problem is the waiting for them to arrive. I sometimes think I should have a set of womens clothes to change into so I can say I'm a lone female, stranded, as that gets priority, but the beard and tache gives it away...

Maybe the AA is a better bet? Their current TV ad seems to suggest they carry spanners for octagonal nuts - maybe they're useful on old MG's..... :?: ;)
