Hello Colin,

I have attached a copy for you.

PLEASE NOTE:.............................. Do NOT under any circumstances send to the address shown for Alan Peglar.

The AIV Officer is Alec MacKenzie, whose contact details are in the directory at the rear of the DM.

Best wishes.

Hi Richard
Thanks for this. The web site seems to be missing quite a few things, I wanted to renew my data sheets for the coming season but they are no longer available. Still that perhaps that is the brave new world in the club and should be a seperate post sometime. Incidentally Alec thinks it is on the web site!

Thanks again
Regards

Colin

Hello Colin,

You are welcome.

I have just done my Daimler AIV via Alec; fortunately I had downloaded the document before the website changed - hence having it to hand.

Graham is still in the process of constructing the new website and as such there are, I presume, other bits yet to be added.

Best wishes.

I started the valuation process with Alec using the valuation form supplied by my insurers (Peter James), having failed to find the DLOC form on the new website. Alec was happy with using the insurer's form, but is insisting on seven photos signed and dated, which would prevent sending them digitally? How did you get round this change in process Richard?
It would seem that the Club form needs revising in several areas , not just the change of Club Valuer and contact.

Hi
I sent them through the post, I am not sure what 7 photographs he wants. I did not sign the photographs but printed them on an A3, so I will see what happens. Peter James who I am also with don't require that number as I read their sheet and I will have to have another look as I have the Moke to insure at the same time. The usual has for years been 5 photos.
For ditigal ones adobe photoshop will tell you the time and date the photograph was taken if you know where to look.
I will let you know how I get on.
Kind regards

Colin

Colin,

Normally the seven are: front / offside / nearside / rear / in the boot / engine bay / interior.

Depending how nice you car is depends on how many photos you send; good photos of good cars do a lot to confirm the AIV - whereas the minimum sent does just that. The minimum.

Regards.

Hi, I have recently reinsured my Lanchester Eleven, and because I did not want to increase its value, no photos were required .

Cheers Al 😊😊

Hello Al,

That's interesting.

I take it you are more than happy with your Agreed Insurance Valuation ??

How does that work when taking in to account ever increasing damage repair costs by garages ?? What may be £10K to repair this year could be £12K to repair the next year and so on.

I appreciate vehicle owners do a lot of their own bodywork, BUT the AIV is there to ensure that the full cost of damage repair is covered or (hopefully not) the case of a write-off classification namely A / B / S (formerly Cat C)

Regards.

Hi Richard, well I could have increased the valuation, but looking at recent Lanchester’s for sale similar to mine, I thought a value of £20,000 about right, what does the team think ??

Cheers Al
