Coolant pump

Post by New Dexter »

Now I know this isn't motor related but given that I was told the item in question is from "an old FIAT" it does have slightly tenuous link.
The coolant pump on my cut off saw gave up the ghost some time ago so I reverted to the band saw which then produced its own problem of shedding its blade on a regular basis. Back to the cut off saw then, The advantage of the band saw is that it can cut up to 10" wide pieces.
The coolant pump has the typical shoe which sits on a cam and this causes the piston to rise and fall. However, while this part works it will not lift or pump anything. I suspect that the valves are u/s but replacing them, or finding replacements might prove difficult.
I have received a quote of £61 plus carriage plus VAT. I wonder if any of the readers of this forum might be able to identify the pump from the photographs.
If I could find a way to post them!
