Footman James Restoration Show 2nd &3rd Nov

Post by JT7196 »

Hi Chaps, yes, it’s that time again when you will have to “ endure” my presents at the above show! !
This time I have managed to find some more superb motors.
1938 Lanchester Eleven Sports Saloon
1937 Daimler E20
1961 ? Daimler SP250
1936 Lanchester E 18
The latter has been the subject of a very long and difficult restoration, to see this car in its present for has been a major achievement, conidering the state that it was in when first purchased be the present owner.
I will try and post some pictures on here, but to really appreciate this Restoration, you should come to the show and see it for yourself, hopefully it will be a major contender for the “ Best in Show “ award... we shall have to wait and see.......😀😀

The event is held at the Bath & West Showground BA4-6QN Nr Shepton Mallet Somerset

For further details contact me on here .
Cheers Al 😀😀

I won’t be able this time but hope all goes well for you Al. The club should be very grateful for your efforts each time the show is on. With you in the south west and David Beale in the north Daimler’s are done proud.
Colin,
I may be slow but I’m rough as well !

Hello Al,

I've already booked tickets for the Saturday, so I shall certainly be dropping in at the DLOC stand at some stage.

Best wishes.

Richard.

Many thanks for the kind words Colin, it is difficult to find a new selection of cars for the stands for the Four shows I organise the DLOC every year, Three at Shepton Mallet & One at Sherborne , but I seem to manage one way or another 😀
Be good to meet up with you Richard, and there will be Tea , Coffee , & Biscuits to whet you appetite, and hopefully, there will be some sore parts for sale.
So, why not come and join Big Bad Al on the 2nd & 3 rd of November on the club stand In the Showering Pavillion ?
Cheers Al 😀😀😀

Lovely restored cars again, Alan. At last I've met Kevin Bennett who lives in the same village where I was brought up, also another Bristolian who owns the blue/grey SP250.

Hi Chaps, well yet another very successful weekend I’m very pleased to say, with our stand being very busy over the weekend .
It was so good to meet up with those of you who came to visit the stand, this was the first time in about Three years that we have been able to be located in the Showering Pavillion , although our positioning could have been better.
I have spoken to one of the organisers after the show finished this afternoon and requested us to be allocated a spot more towards the middle of the hall, which would afford us more space to display our cars, some of which are quite large ! !
The Autojumble followed its usual trend, with lots of Tool suppliers and not a great deal of “ Our” type of parts , I suppose that the Internet has had quite an effect on the supply of parts, and of course, the sometimes seemingly exorbitant prices being requested for stand space!

Hi Chaps, whilst talking to Kevin Bennett last Sunday (3rd Nov) he suggested that it may be an idea to have a DLOC rally at one of the Footman James events, so I have taken the opportunity to ask the organisers of the show, and am awaiting a reply.
Just a matter of interest , how many of you Chaps and Chapess’s would be interested in taking part?
I would probably still organise the DLOC stand as per usual .

Cheers Al 😀😀

Good idea, Alan. I would like to be there, but perhaps not all the time as my back gets very tired and painful.
Would it be just a display that we could visit for a short time?
Some people might like a rally, perhaps up Cheddar Gorge.
Make sure it's a dry, warm day in summer. :D
