Rally Gossip
SCOTTISH GOSSIP UPDATE !!!!
Geoff and Hamish and Mrs Geoff gave us a great week of events.
Unfortunately, they forgot to order decent weather, although it was
not as bad as originally threatened.
Sadly, at the end of the Sunday Rally, Tony Fardoe fell six feet whilst helping
to load a car onto a loader and broke his leg in three places.
Just to make sure he didn't get all the attention, Lisa, his superior half,
fainted and badly pulled a muscle in her back, setting off an old existing injury.
We ended up with two ambulances, and wind and rain.
Lisa came back in a taxi that evening, Tony had an operation the next day, and is
now full of metal.(Original Daimler parts). He returned to the hotel on Tuesday.
Stephen Leckie, the owner of the Peebles Hydro, and DLOC member, told the couple
that they could stay as long as needed at the Hotel, no charge. He paid for Lisa's
taxi home from Edinburgh hospital and put a taxi at her disposal for the rest of her stay.
(She's on crutches).
Stephen had also put Gin and Tonics in all the DLOC rooms. local fudge in a tin with the
DLOC motif on, and many other very generous offers.
The man is a prince..........
Tony and Lisa are being helped home with their car by another SP250 member, on Thursday.
Duncan ( who broke his leg at the NEC) and Tony will now be able to compare metal pins,
and enter the most Bionic member of the DLOC competition.

Oh dear, Oh dear, what can I say!
At least they now have some time to write articles for the DM about the other experiences at the rally
Get well soon. Did the hospital build a shock absorber into his leg? (Thank God the car is OK. SP250s are virtually indestructible.)
Any chance of some photos for this forum (and I don't mean photos of them in bed enjoying gin and fudge )

Photo received from Stephen Leckie of Tony Fardoe. Whether he is smiling bravely despite great pain or is returning from hospital I'm not sure. Sarcastic comments may follow, I suppose!
I was also sent a photo of the ambulance carrying Lisa, but she's not visible.Re: 2019 DLOC International Rally, Peebles, Scotland

I hate those stupid headlamps.
I hope Colin brings his bus to York this year. Is not so far for him.
